Best Girls Camping Adventure in Acadia, Maine

The Girls adventure is based in the Acadia National Park area. This trip packs the maxim amount of adventure and excitement in a 6 day trip. Activities will include hiking and rock climbing in beautiful Acadia National Park; sailing off from Bar Harbor, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and whitewater rafting.

Days 1 - 2

Day 1 "Arrival, Orientation, Acadia Bound"

Our journey begins with a warm welcome at our Danville NH office at 9 am, where campers gather for check-in and orientation. We then set out for Franklin, ME, our destination being the renowned Franklin Farm. Situated amidst 77 acres of scenic beauty, this picturesque location is celebrated for its iconic barn, serving as the hub for various games like barn volleyball, knockout, card games, and musical sessions. Upon arrival, campers can look forward to exploring the vast property, with ample opportunities for adventure amidst the open fields. Weather permitting, we may even sneak in a quick swim at George’s Pond, adding an extra layer of excitement to our first day at camp.

Day 2 "Exploration at Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor"

As the day begins, campers prepare their day packs for an unforgettable adventure in Acadia National Park. Our first stop is Thunder Hole, where campers have the exhilarating option to try their hand at rock climbing or rappelling, adding an extra thrill to their day. Along the stunning ocean coastline, they'll also have the opportunity to enjoy bouldering and embark on the scenic Beehive Trail, renowned for its breathtaking vistas. Depending on the tides, we may even catch a glimpse of the spectacular Thunder Hole in action, adding an unexpected twist to our exploration.

Days 3 - 4

Day 3 "George’s Pond & Twilight Trek"

The day begins with an invigorating adventure at George’s Pond, where campers can indulge in canoeing, kayaking, and swimming amidst the serene waters. With its inviting beach and ample space for play, George’s Pond offers a perfect retreat for water-based fun. They may even paddle out to the famous island diving board for some wild jumps and giant splashes. In the afternoon, excitement builds as we embark on a twilight hike up Schoodic Mountain. As the sun dips below the horizon, campers ascend to the summit, where they'll bed down for the night overlooking the majestic Frenchman Bay and Acadia National Park. Beneath a canopy of stars, they'll have the chance to marvel at the celestial wonders before settling in for a restful night's sleep.

Day 4 "Dawn's Awakening & Nautical Voyage"

As the sun rises over the summit of Schoodic Mountain, campers are greeted with a breathtaking panorama of Bar Harbor and Frenchman's Bay. After descending to Donnel’s Pond for a refreshing swim, we return to camp for a sumptuous celebratory brunch, marking our triumphant ascent. In the afternoon, the excitement continues as we embark on a thrilling sailing excursion in Frenchman's Bay, guided by the experienced hand of Dr. Holder. With the wind in our sails, we navigate the azure waters, soaking in the beauty of our surroundings and reveling in the joy of exploration. As dusk falls, we journey into the vibrant town of Bar Harbor, where campers have the opportunity to immerse themselves in its bustling atmosphere. Amidst souvenir shops and quaint cafes, they can indulge in treats, purchase mementos, and reconnect with loved ones back home.

Days 5 - 6

Day 5 "Conquering the Rapids: Whitewater Rafting on the Kennebec River"

Prepare for a day of pure adrenaline and unforgettable thrills! Our adventure begins at Lake Moxie, where campers kickstart the excitement with playful antics, adorned in vibrant body paint and hairspray. Next, we embark on an exhilarating journey down the Kennebec River, navigating through heart-pounding whitewater rapids under the guidance of experienced Moxie Rafting guides. With each thrilling twist and turn, campers embrace the rush of adrenaline, culminating in a refreshing swim in the river's cool waters. As the sun sets, we bid farewell to the rapids and make our way to the serene landscapes of the White Mountains. Here, nestled in the heart of Woodstock, NH, lies "The Land" – our tranquil retreat for the evening. Amidst crackling campfires and indulgent s'mores, campers gather to recount the day's epic adventures, forging cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Day 6 "The Grand Finale"

As the curtain draws on the fifth day of camp, our adventure-filled journey is far from over. Campers are presented with a plethora of exciting options, whether it's chasing waterfalls, taking a daring leap from the bridge, enjoying a leisurely river float, or engaging in spirited camp games. Amidst the camaraderie and laughter, lunchtime arrives, signaling the beginning of the bittersweet task of packing up their tents. As they gather to bid farewell to their temporary home, memories of the week's adventures are fondly shared and cherished. But before our intrepid adventurers return home, there's one final surprise in store. A secret stop along the way adds an extra dash of mystery and excitement to our journey back to Danville, NH, where tales of our unforgettable escapades will be joyously recounted with family and friends.
