The Eight-Day Land & Sea trip offers adventurers four days of sailing, canoeing, kayaking, and coastal exploring along the beautiful islands of Frenchman Bay, Mt. Desert Island and Acadia National Park. The ensuing four days' activities will include rock climbing, rappelling, beginner level whitewater canoeing and kayaking, and ending the journey with the always exciting whitewater rafting on the Kennebec River.

Days 1 - 2

Day 1: "Orientation and Expedition Kickoff"

Gather bright and early at our office in Danville NH at 9 am for check-in and camper orientation, marking the exciting beginning of our adventure. Our journey takes us to the charming town of Franklin, ME, where we'll establish our camp at the renowned Franklin Farm. Nestled amidst picturesque surroundings, this historic farm is renowned for its iconic barn, serving as the hub for a plethora of activities including barn volleyball, knockout, card games, impromptu music sessions, and more. Campers also have the opportunity to roam and explore the expansive 77-acre property, immersing themselves in the beauty of the open fields and natural landscapes. If the weather permits, we may even steal away for a refreshing swim at the nearby George's Pond, adding an extra splash of excitement to our day of exploration and camaraderie.

Day 2: "Schoodic Summit & Island Adventure"

Weather and tides permitting, campers will have the exhilarating opportunity to embark on a brief yet breathtaking hike up Schoodic Mountain. At its peak, panoramic vistas of Frenchman Bay and Acadia National Park unfold, offering a majestic backdrop to our day's adventures. Upon descending from the mountain, campers will pack their gear in eager anticipation of our next destination: Stave Island in Frenchman Bay. Whether by canoe, kayak, or our majestic 26 ft Pierson sailboat, the journey to Stave Island promises an enchanting voyage along the protected side of the Frenchman Bay islands. Arriving at our secluded campsite on Stave Island, campers are invited to explore the island's rugged beauty. From traversing the stunning rocky shoreline to venturing along wooded trails that lead to spectacular sunset viewpoints overlooking Frenchman Bay, there's no shortage of natural wonders to discover. As night falls, the campfire becomes the focal point of our gathering, where tales are spun, camp games are played, and music fills the air, fostering bonds and memories that will last a lifetime.

Days 3 - 5

Day 3 "Land & Sea Expedition: A Day of Adventure"

Prepare for a day filled with excitement and exploration as we embark on a multifaceted journey encompassing sailing, tubing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, swimming, and more! Campers are presented with a plethora of options, from navigating kayaks and canoes around the myriad of surrounding islands to embarking on shoreline adventures exploring the hidden gems of Stave Island. Those seeking thrills can opt for exhilarating sailing expeditions in the bay or heart-pounding tubing rides on the water. As the day unfolds, all explorer groups converge for a scenic beachside lunch on the opposite shore of Stave Island. Here, amidst the tranquil beauty of nature, campers share stories and refuel for the adventures yet to come. Post-lunch, the possibilities are endless as campers have the freedom to choose a new activity to dive into, ensuring each individual can fully immerse themselves in their preferred experiences. Whether it's a serene paddle, an adrenaline-pumping sail, or a leisurely hike, every camper has the opportunity to partake in each option throughout their time on Stave Island. As night descends, groups disperse for a variety of choice activities, from another breathtaking sunset hike to a twilight sail under the stars. Meanwhile, campfire gatherings offer the perfect setting for sharing stories, strumming melodies, and forging connections that transcend the boundaries of land and sea.

Day 4 "Until We Meet Again Stave Island"

Bid farewell to Stave Island with a mixture of reluctance and fond memories. Before departing for the mainland, we squeeze in some final moments of exploration, tubing, and sailing, savoring every last drop of adventure. As a fitting farewell tradition, campers participate in the beloved "Highland Golf Tournament," a delightful blend of mini golf and bocce that adds a touch of whimsy to our departure. Returning to the welcoming embrace of Franklin Farm, campers swiftly set up camp before embarking on a well-deserved trip to the YMCA in Ellsworth, Maine. Here, amidst the modern amenities, campers revel in the luxury of a hot shower, washing away the salt of our island adventures and refreshing both body and spirit. Back at the farm, the evening unfolds with games galore in the sprawling fields. From barn volleyball to knockout, card games, and more, laughter fills the air as friendships deepen and memories are made under the starry skies.

Day 5 "Adventures in Acadia and Exploring Bar Harbor"

Following a hearty breakfast, campers eagerly prepare their day packs for an exhilarating journey into the wonders of Acadia National Park. With options aplenty, all campers are invited to partake in the thrilling activities of rock climbing or rappelling, offering a chance to conquer heights and push personal boundaries. Along the stunning ocean coast, bouldering awaits, providing an opportunity to navigate natural rock formations amidst the crashing waves. And for those seeking breathtaking views, the Beehive Trail beckons with its short yet rewarding hike, promising unforgettable vistas of Acadia's splendor. As the day draws to a close, campers have the opportunity to explore the bustling town of Bar Harbor. Here, amidst the lively atmosphere and array of shops, campers can indulge in souvenir shopping, treat themselves to snacks, and take a moment to connect with loved ones back home. Amidst the charm of Bar Harbor, memories are made and bonds are strengthened, marking the perfect end to a day of adventure in Acadia National Park.

Days 6 - 8

Day 6 "Franklin Farm Fun: George's Pond & Whitewater Thrills"

Embrace the leisurely pace of the morning with a late wake-up call, allowing campers to relish the tranquility of Franklin Farm while engaging in an array of lively camp games. Following a satisfying lunch, campers face an exciting choice: venture to the refreshing waters of George's Pond for a day of swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and perhaps a thrilling leap from the famous island diving board, or opt for an adrenaline-fueled excursion on the Union River, navigating beginner-friendly class I rapids through whitewater canoeing and kayaking. As the afternoon sun begins to wane, it's time to bid farewell to Franklin Farm and make our way to The Forks, Maine, where our next adventure awaits. Settling in with our rafting company, Moxie Outdoor Adventures, we prepare for a night of rest, eager to recharge for the exhilarating challenges that lie ahead on our biggest adventure of the week.

Day 7 "Conquering the Kennebec: A Day of Thrills"

Prepare for an adrenaline-fueled adventure as campers awaken at Lake Moxie, where the excitement begins with playful antics and colorful body paint, setting the tone for an unforgettable day ahead. Embarking on the ultimate thrill ride, campers join forces with the expert guides from Moxie Rafting to tackle the mighty Kennebec River. With adrenaline pumping and paddles in hand, the group navigates through exhilarating whitewater rapids, each bend and surge of the river offering a new challenge and a surge of excitement. As the journey unfolds, moments of triumph are celebrated amidst laughter and camaraderie, culminating in refreshing dips and playful swimming in the river's cool waters. With hearts still racing from the day's epic exploits, the group bids farewell to the river and embarks on a scenic ride to the White Mountains. Here, at the revered "Land" in Woodstock, NH, affectionately dubbed by Adventurelore, campers gather around crackling campfires, indulging in gooey s'mores and regaling one another with tales of their daring adventures from the week. As the stars twinkle overhead, bonds are strengthened, memories are made, and the spirit of adventure lives on.

Day 8 "The Grand Finale"

On the fifth and final day of camp, the adventure continues, with campers seizing the opportunity for one last hurrah before bidding farewell to the wilderness. Options abound as they explore nearby waterfalls, embark on exhilarating bridge jumps, float lazily down the river, or engage in spirited camp games, savoring every moment of their remaining time together. As lunchtime approaches, campers begin to pack up their tents, pausing to reflect on the memories and friendships forged during their unforgettable week. With hearts full and spirits soaring, they share stories and laughter, cherishing the bonds that will endure long after camp ends. Returning to Danville, NH, campers reunite with their families, eager to recount their tales of adventure and camaraderie. But before parting ways, there's one last surprise in store—a secret stop along the journey home, adding an extra touch of magic to an already unforgettable experience.
