Ryan is a licensed clinical mental health counselor and has a masters degree and certification in school counseling from the University of New Hampshire.  Ryan also worked for five years at Portsmouth High School in special education counseling.

In the late 1970's and early 1980's, Jason was the Physical Education Department Head at Timberlane Regional High School. During the summer, he took students who had struggled in the physical education classes, on canoe trips to make up the missed credit.

After finding his passion for working with at-risk youth, he went back to school to earn his masters degree in clinical mental health counseling at Rivier University.
